The Pied Piper
When, lo! as they reached the mountain-side,
A wondrous portal opened wide,
As if a cavern was suddenly hollowed;
The Piper advanced and the children followed,
And when all were in to the very last,
The door in the mountainside shut fast.
The students of Grade K2 of Kothari International School presented a theatrical adaptation of the famous poem, The Pied Piper of Hamelin on 2nd September 2023. As the pied piper stepped onto the stage and played his pipe, he enchanted and enthralled the audience as they swayed from side to side and tapped their feet as though they were carried away by the magic in his tunes.
The programme commenced with the welcome of the Trustee Dr.Avinash Gupta followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal Dr.Sangeeta Arora and Vice Principal Mr.Manish Seksaria. The performance that conveyed a valuable message of keeping one’s promise, being grateful to everyone, and never following anyone blindly was a visual treat to the audience as it took them to Hamelin, a small town in Germany where the story is set. This wonderful blend of dance, drama, and music comprised all 180 children of Grade K2.
A breathtaking grand finale left everyone yearning to relive their school days and appeared to be the anthem for the year ahead. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks being proposed by the school Principal. The guests and parents were highly appreciative of the performance of the students and the school for putting together a spectacular event.
