26 August 2023 dawned bright and early, an auspicious day in the annals of Kothari International School, Noida, as the School paid homage to the glorious successes of its brilliant students through the Annual Award Ceremony — ‘Dakshta Diwas.’ The School was more than proud to recognize the young talent who had made immense contributions to the school exhibiting qualities that would not only help them in achieving their goals but also bring glory and laurels to the School.
The ceremony started on a propitious note with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Guest of Honour, The School’s Trustee, Dr. Avinash Gupta, the Principal Dr. Sangeeta Arora, and the Vice Principal Mr. Manish Seksaria.
The Principal, Dr. Sangeeta Arora, formally welcomed the gathering and spoke about how awards are a way to encourage good behavior and inculcate a competitive spirit. She reiterated that awarding just academic successes was not the true spirit of KIS. At KIS, awards are bestowed with great pride to honor those students who excelled in sports, performing arts, and visual arts, including the ones who were proactive in various social events. She echoed that excellence is not a destination but is rather, a journey. She encouraged students to reach upwards like a tree, towards limitless knowledge.
The announcement of awards began with a plethora of academic awards like Scholarship awards, the School Topper award, and the Stream Topper awards followed by the Scholar Badges and the Subject Proficiency awards. These accolades were conferred to the meritorious students in recognition of their dedication, perseverance, and consistent hard work in the Board Examinations, 2022-23. Beyond academics, the School also took great pride in honouring the extra-curricular contributions of its meritorious students.
Marking their presence with exemplary cultural enactments, the performing arts wing of Kothari International, presented a melodious Sufi Song that was an ode of love, devotion and respect to the almighty. A group of graceful dancers performed a scintillating, toe-tapping, bridal Folk Dance that paid tribute to the culture of the Kuppari community through the dance form — ‘Kuppari Lugada.’ The talented KIS band belted out a musical rendition of ‘Hall of Fame,’ thus staying true to the spirit of the occasion.
The School’s Trustee took the stage to applaud the achievers for their outstanding academic and co-scholastic performance. His message and appreciation paid due regard to the School’s values and morals which the awardees exemplified, like discipline, compassion and a zeal for learning. It was indeed a proud moment not only for the recipients of the awards but also for their parents who were invited to partake in the glory of their wards’ success.
The grand spectacle culminated with the National Anthem filling the hall and hearts with patriotic fervour. This was followed up by a stirring rendition of the School Song. The Students were seen acknowledging that this was not an end but rather a beginning of a lifelong journey of knowledge, new avenues of service, and new opportunities for growth and success in all endeavours.
