Students and Staff of KIS, Sector-50, Noida, in association with UNESCO’s Biosphere Reserve Campaign

Students and Staff of Kothari International School (KIS), Sector-50, Noida, in association with UNESCO’s Biosphere Reserve Campaign, led a Cleanliness Drive in Sector-50 to mark India’s 79th Independence Day. They organised a vibrant Health & Hygiene Awareness Drive in the Sector-50 market area. The initiative, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aimed to promote Swachh Bharat and encourage segregation of wet and dry waste.
Led by Principal Dr. Sangeeta Arora and Vice Principal Ms. Nidhi Kapoor, a more than 70-member student team with 09 teachers, conducted surveys, held a rally, and performed a Nukkad Natak to engage shopkeepers and residents. Special guests Ms. Shalinee Singh (Environmental Consultant) and Prof. Parthasarthi (University of Delhi) motivated participants.
Partner NGO owned by Mr Raghav from Carbon Fusion and Mr Rajiv Thakur, Founder, Asharfi Foundation, Ms Kiran Tomar, Community Growth Officer from Fairgaze, along with her team, facilitated garbage collection and disposal, while the International Forum, Interact & Community Club, and IAYP students contributed as part of their community service. The event was covered by Fairgaze, and survey findings will be shared with the Municipal Corporation of Noida for actionable planning.
The drive was well-received by the community, reinforcing KIS’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible citizens and creating lasting environmental impact.
