In the month of July, our Grade 4 artists at Kothari International School took their creativity to the next level through an exciting activity, white charcoal shading on black paper.
Designed to help students explore tonal values, contrast, and the perception of light, this technique encouraged both imagination and observation. From glowing nature scenes and illuminated faces to abstract expressions of light, students produced visually striking works that reflected both curiosity and control.
As they continue to practice, our young artists are steadily refining their pressure control, blending, and shading techniques. This activity has not only enhanced their visual awareness but also strengthened their confidence in using new materials. It is laying the foundation for more advanced art explorations in the months to come.
