Kothari International School, Panvel, proudly hosted an enriching Teachers’ Training Workshop on the National Curriculum Framework – Foundational Stage 2020, led by the renowned educationist Dr. Reeta Sonawat.
A seasoned professional in Human Development with specialization in Early Childhood Education, Dr. Sonawat currently serves as the Director of ECCE at Ampersand Group, Mumbai. Her illustrious career includes roles such as Dean at SNDT Women’s University, Executive Committee Member at Banasthali Vidyapeeth, and Board of Education Member at IGNOU. She has been nominated for prestigious fellowships, including the US Government’s IVLP Program, Indo-Shastri Canadian Fellowship, and Rotary Fellowship for University Teachers. She has also been honored by the World Forum as a Global Leader for ECCE and completed a certificate course from the Golda Meir Institute, Haifa, Israel.
The workshop focused on play-based, activity-oriented learning, aligning with NEP 2020 reforms. Through collaborative discussions and interactive modules, educators explored the five developmental goals of the Foundational Stage, with insights into inclusive education, child-centric practices, and strategies for nurturing foundational literacy and numeracy in a joyful and engaging manner.
